Client Mail from our Yorkie Puppies

I usually receive a phone call a few days after a puppy has arrived at their new home and has had time to get accustomed to their new surroundings. It is hard to convey these transitions to people who view my site because each situation is different.

However I have been lucky enough to received an e-mail from Vanessa and Franck who flew up from Chicago and spent the weekend site seeing before picking their puppy up to take back home. They arrived on a Friday and visited the puppy "Sydney" as this was the first time they met. They only saw Sydney through photographs. They returned back on Sunday to take Sydney back to the hotel to spend the night so that they could make their early morning flight on Monday back to Chicago. I added some blank newspaper to the goody bag I send with each puppy. The blank newspaper would be for Sydney to potty on till he got home. I train my puppies to use this paper as soon as they become mobile.

This e-mail was written by Vanessa from Sydney's point of view, this shows the real power of positive training and a new owners ability to achieve the same results.

My wife and I thought this was a very cute letter and with Vanessa's permission I am able to include it on the web site.

Thanks Vanessa

Hi Bob:

This is Sydney. I wanted to let you know that I am doing very well and really liking my new home with Franck and Vanessa. I’ve had lots of adventures already, but I’ve been a real trooper through it all. First, there was the car ride. I was a little nervous and shaky at first, but then I made myself comfortable on Vanessa’s lap and almost fell asleep.

Then, we got to the hotel room and I enjoyed sniffing everything, and showing Vanessa every small spec I could find under the bed. But she did not let me keep any of it. I showed off my paper training skills early when I did a peepee right in the middle of the paper. Franck and Vanessa seemed very impressed. I played a lot with my toys and with Vanessa’s ponytail. Then, I got tired and got comfortable in my new bed: a very comfy blue velvet pillow (which is part of my cute round wicker bed). Vanessa stroked me to sleep and I slept all through the night without crying, like a big girl, except for a quick run to the paper for another peepee—which I did without missing again.

The next morning, I wanted to show everyone that I was a big eater and had a half bowl of dry kibble and a little water, to the great relief and joy of my new parents. Then it was off to the airport. I was very quiet in my carrier, and Vanessa carried me through the metal detectors without a hitch. All the security people wanted to pet me, but Vanessa had me in her arms and I was a little too shaky for much attention. She took me to the ladies room, laid out my paper, and I wowed her by making a new deposit right in the middle of the paper! I was very proud of myself. I felt much lighter and ready for my plane ride.

I flew first class in front of the plane. Vanessa put me in my carrier for take off and landing. It was noisy, but I remained very quiet through the whole thing. During the flight I got a lot of reassurance and petting. So much so, that I actually fell asleep. The flight attendant kept checking in on me, brought me water, and an ice cube to lick, but I was just content being on Vanessa’s lap.

We finally made it home and I was excited to see my new house. I inspected every corner, even places I know Franck and Vanessa did not know existed. After a thorough exam, I landed back in my box for another victory (Vanessa gets very excited every time I make it there) and had another bowl of food with water. Then, I took a long nap to recover from my travels. Franck spent the whole day with me, and although I could tell he felt a little sick still, he played with me, let me lick his face and nose, bite his ears (I pretty much used his head as a toy when he made it accessible), threw my toys for fetching sessions, and took a nap next to me. He even stayed close to watch me eat. I showed off again that I could eat like a big girl.

I think that my new name is Sydney. They keep calling me that, and I am starting to come over when they do. They seem to really like it and give me lots of love when I do. Vanessa has already brushed me and cleaned my eyes. I’m not sure that I liked it, but I tried not to wiggle too much.

I really like my new home and new parents. I already give them lots of kisses and I’ve been a very good girl…that’s what they keep saying. I think that I’m going to stay.

We are both so delighted to have Sydney. She is adorable in every way and I am impressed how quickly she adapted to us and her surroundings. She has been perfect with the paper training, surpassing my expectations. We reward her each time she goes with positive reinforcement. The same can be said for her eating; she has been consistently eating since day one (even had a snack in the middle of the night last night). We are staying vigilant just in case. She is getting more confident around us, and we are getting a lot of kisses.

Thanks again for everything.
Vanessa

Hi Bob:

Sydney recently turned 2 years old and she is the love of our lives. We are just crazy about her. She's not only the cutest thing on four legs, but she has a personality to match. She's got spunk, but she's also incredibly well-behaved and very loving. Click Here to see Yorkshire terrier Sidney at her 2 year birthday party!

Sydney is a well-traveled dog who to date has visited: Paris, Montreal, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Denver, Aspen, Breckenridge, Salt Lake City, and Atlanta.

We wanted to share a couple of updated photos of her - she's grown a bit since her last photo with her German Sheppard friend. Click here to see Sidney as a 1 pound 8 ounce Yorkie puppy with her new friend.

As for the traveling. Sydney's a real pro. She has her travel routine down packed...and she must enjoy it because she jumps into her bag as soon as she sees it. She's trained to go on the wee-wee pad at the airport and on the bathroom plane, and she pretty much goes on command. On longer flights she eats and drinks what we've prepared for her, and pretty much sleeps the rest of the time.

Sydney is definitely very pampered; she's our baby and she's treated like it. We basically take her everywhere we go, and spend a lot of time with her. We're always looking to make sure she gets good exercise, playtime, dog visits, and plenty of love. She's mastered the task of asking to come on the bed...and when she's there, she loves it. We think she's a pretty happy well-adjusted dog.

Hope all is well with you,

Vanessa

Hi Bob:

Hi, I have been meaning to send you an e-mail for quite some time now – but was always hoping to attach some photos.  Since I’m am way to slow I wanted to at least send you a note and possible send the pictures another day.  I purchased a small male from you 10/31/05.   I have to tell you – the is the BEST DOG I have EVER owned.  Everyone who meets him says the same thing.  He has the most wonderful temperament, is well behaved, has the cutiest personality.  This is the first time I purchased a dog and actually got what I paid for.   I can not thank you enough.  He is the joy of life and a wonderful companion.  We are buddies, and he goes everywhere with me and people just fall all over him.  I recommend you highly to anyone who wants to know where I purchased him.    He just makes you smile all the time.  It is just impossible to get angry with him, he is just so cute.  And as you can tell, I’m sure from this e-mail, he is quite spoiled, and deserves to  be so.    Your liter box training has been a god sent.  No matter where I take him, I put down a wee wee pad and he uses it.  I could not ask for a better dog.   Thank you so much.  I have named him Pippin and hope to send you a couple of pics as soon as possible.

Debbie

Dear Bob, Happy Thanksgiving!

I am being a really good boy and have adapted well to my new environment. My Mom and Dad really love me and have become my pac! They spend a lot of time on the floor with me so they don't seem so big. I really love being held and falling asleep in their arms. They let me kiss them and of course they kiss me back. We play fetch and I love to shake the toys and have them make noise. I sleep in their bed and they are very careful to give me plenty of space but I like to snuggle right next to them. My bladder is real good. I sleep all night and don't have to go potty. I have been eating very well. They give me fresh water everyday and I have been drinking plenty. They are very pleased that I use the litter pan when I do my poopy. I haven't quite got down that I am suppose to pee pee in that also but I know I will soon as I want to please them. With Thanksgiving coming I wanted to let you know that I am so thankful for all you did for me the first five months of my life. You were a wonderful alpha dog and were so kind to me. I miss all my playmates there but I am adapting very well here. My new Dad printed off the picture he took of you and me at the airport. My new Mom said she could see why Dad said you were so wonderful. She could tell by the kindness in your eyes. Thank you also for putting such a nice picture of me on the Internet so that my Mom and Dad found me. I know they love me very much and will take very good care of me. I miss you and all my friends but I am very happy. You would know that if you were here to watch me bounce as I run around.

Love, Beau Click here to see a picture of yorkie Beau

Bob,

As you can tell we are delighted with Beau. He has brought such joy to our hearts in the short time we have had him. I said to Sharon today I think we are the two luckiest people in the world! Thanks for raising such a wonderful companion for us. Happy Thanksgiving to you. This is a wonderful one for us!

Foldly,
Jerry

Greetings Bob,
We have returned from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for two months. Beau had a wonderful summer.
He is such a delight. We feel sooooooooo fortunate that we have him in our lives.
He is well potty trained on the piddle pads and it is wonderful! We have never done that with a dog before and it is so nice not to have to take him out especially when it is raining.
He loves being good and loves us to praise him.
I am sending you a couple of pictures so you can see how beautiful he is.

Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Jerry     Click here to see Yorkshire terrier pic's of Beau   Picture 1   Picture 2

Dear Bob,

I am composing and sending my first email ever on Lucie’s First Birthday. She has quickly become a cherished member of our family. I want to thank you for the best puppy we could have ever adopted. She is friendly to everyone she meets, even the UPS guy! She doesn’t even bark when the doorbell rings! Every time she hears the coat closet opening, she prances around to see if her Zazzy travel bed is coming out. She travels in the car for hours without a peep! You did an absolutely wonderful job socializing her with both humans as well as other dogs. She has the sweetest temperament while still being feisty. We just love watching her race around from room to room.

We are not only grateful for her perfect disposition, but also every time it is stormy outside, I mentally thank you for litter training her. Believe me, she collects every treat! I also want to thank you for choosing a safe dog food.I can’t believe the carelessness of the dog food industry. I used to need a nap after bathing and grooming Lucie, but she has become a little more tolerant because she has no choice! We happen to like a clean dog. I have been grooming her in a modified Puppy Cut. I have enclosed a picture of our little darling. In closing I would like to say that you are a very talented breeder and I am very grateful.

Sincerely,
Pauline

P.S.Lucie is weighing in at not quite three pounds.

Hi Kim,

Just wanted you to know that Talulah is adapting well to her new surroundings. She slept through the night without so much as a whimper. She's eating her food and using the litter box. She is truly amazing and I really didn't expect so much cooperation. She doesn't chew on anything, only her toys. And she lets me groom her. I must commend you for your preparations of these pups. I've never had such an easy transition with a puppy and wanted to thank you for your time and effort. I'll keep in touch as I know I'll have questions in the future.

Pam
